Contributed by Chloé Rada, ATAP Board Member

2020 is off to a great start for the Association of Talent Acquisition Professionals (ATAP)!

We launched our “News You Can Use” newsletter, kicked off our first official industry event gaining 183 new members and welcomed our newest board member, Mike Cohen.

Our sponsor community continues to grow, and we are grateful for these partnerships.  Their generous financial support will enable us to flourish and succeed on our mission, every step of the way.

Most importantly, we have renewed focus on providing value to you as a member. During our last board meeting we defined this as our key objective for the year and carved out a plan on how we’ll achieve that.

Together, we will develop a body of unified educational, ethical and measurement standards. And we’ll advocate on issues that impact those in our profession. ATAP will help you do your job better by:

  • Creating a peer-to-peer community of inspired and informed professionals across the globe
  • Giving you access to education on Talent Acquisition challenges such as Tech Stacks, recruiting KPIs, sourcing metrics and ageism
  • Providing relevant, top-of-mind content that will help build recruiter, sourcer, and Talent Acquisition leadership knowledge, confidence, and capability

“ATAP is committed to providing support to Talent Acquisition Professionals in the forms of content, community and education. We are unveiling new “snackable” vlogs and blogs, addressing acute needs and topics that help our members grow professionally. I am also excited to announce that we will be adding local ATAP chapters and events to continue to build community amongst our members,” says Board President, Jim D’Amico.

At only three years old, ATAP is a relatively new organization. We know we have a lot of work to do—and our first step toward continuous improvement is holding listening sessions with Talent Acquisition industry experts. We will seek advice about our strategic direction, learn more about ATAP’s reputation and discover gaps that ATAP can fill.

There has never been a better time to join this association, but more so to become a volunteer.   We are looking to place members who are interested and have the capacity to come on board at a such a pivotal time.

Personally, being an ATAP volunteer since day one has enriched my personal life in ways I would have never expected. Not only did I forge new relationships with engaged leaders and gained new perspective around Talent Acquisition trends, I developed new skills around indirectly managing and influencing others – a core competency I rely on heavily in my TA Operations role at Sodexo.

Over the next several months, members of the board, our Executive Director, Kristen LeBlanc and I will be presenting and attending many upcoming industry events. We look forward to connecting with you one-on-one!

In the meantime, stay connected to all the ATAP news by following us on LinkedIn.
