The ATAP Story

Across the past 20 years, talent acquisition has lacked an important unifying element—an organization that represents the interests of those in the profession.

There are niche and regional organizations, and larger for-profit and broader human resources groups, but none to represent all of talent acquisition. Until now.

Bringing the Profession Together

The Association of Talent Acquisition Professionals (ATAP) was founded in 2016 as a 501(c)6 association. However, the idea for a global recruiting association has long had roots in the hearts and minds of talent acquisition professionals.

As a member-driven non-profit, ATAP was designed to bring the profession together to:

  • Build a common body of knowledge and ethics for the talent acquisition profession
  • Establish global standards of talent acquisition performance measurements
  • Network at local, national and global levels
  • Help establish new, local recruitment communities where they don’t currently exist
  • Create access to peer-reviewed resources, education and learning opportunities

And we can’t do all of this without you. ATAP is open to all professionals who have talent acquisition responsibilities, including corporate, agency, staffing and RPO recruiters and leaders. Our membership is open to technology and product partners who provide solutions and tools that support talent acquisition strategy and execution.
